Warranty Void if Removed

Justyn bought an amazing plasma TV on ebay for a bargain £50. It was sold as broken, but it seems the seller was incapable of pressing buttons - it actualy works fine. It lacked a stand or any means of attaching it to a wall. For a few weeks it was simply gaffer taped to the radiator, but eventually we could live in fear no longer, and decided to fabricate some brackets.

The back of the TV has some captive nuts to screw a bracket to. Justyn bought two 500mm lengths of 20x20x3 steel box from Metal Supermarkets, and I supplied the metalworking equipment. 

Thought I'd make my 3rd year project writeup available. It is a switch-mode power supply with digital PID control implemented in a low power microcontroller. The aim is to achieve a higher performance, more flexible design than a traditional analogue supply without the high power consumption of a high-speed DSP.

It scored highly, so might be worth reading if you're a 3rd year Electronic at Southampton.

It was about time I made a piece of jewellery for my good friend Lou. She likes green, and I like precision handiwork, so I thought this pendant would make a nice birthday present. It features a 6x4mm oval emerald tension set in the central cutout, and two 1.5mm diamonds bead set at the top and bottom.

I reattach the wifi module to a PCB from a Playstation Portable using my hot air reflow station.

I wanted to add internal bluetooth to my tablet PC, so I took a USB bluetooth dongle and shoehorned it into my tablet; adding a little control PCB to allow it to be turned on and off.

My second stone setting project (well, shell I suppose) was a pair of silver cufflinks bezel set with Blue Paua shell from New Zealand. It's also known as Blue Abalone.

This was my first attempt at a stone setting project. I got it wrong repeatedly, but unfortunately didn't take enough photos, instead making it look like I knew what I was doing!
